This event was put together by a bunch of hobbyists with a common passion for the Pontiac G8. We met online at sites like g8board.com and grrrr8.net. Our first event was a huge success, and even got coverage in High Performance Pontiac magazine on page 56 of the June 2011 issue.

The event will offer drag racing at Cordova Dragway Park on Friday, September 9.  We will have our own area in the pits, and dedicated staging lanes for attendees of the event only.  We will have trophies for the fastest cars in each class.  We intend to offer the following classes, although the classes are subject to change or modification as needed:

For racing purposes, only modifications that affect performance will be considered to determine your class.  Cosmetic modifications that don't significantly impact performance will not be considered.  A car in "Stock" MUST have a stock tune, stock tires (or equivalent), stock exhaust, stock torque converter/clutch, etc.  Up to 3 minor modifications will be allowed in "Stock."  These modifications can include a cold-air intake, removal of air filter, poly bushings, etc.  More than 3 total performance modifications bump a car up to "Light Mod." A car in "Light Mod" can have a tune, drag radials, aftermarket exhaust, aftermarket torque converter/clutch, but engine internals MUST be stock, and no "power adders" are allowed (nitrous oxide, turbos, superchargers).  Cars with Slicks, power adders, or modified engine internals, will fall into "Modified."  Any discrepancies regarding proper class placement will be determined by event organizers.                        

We will also offer an optional bracket racing elimination if there is enough demand.

The car show will offer trophies for all class winners.  We intend to offer the following classes:

For show purposes, only modifications that change the vehicles appearance from stock will be considered.  Performance modifications that aren't visable from outside the car will not be considered.  A car in "Stock" MUST be basically stock in appearance, having stock paint, stock wheels (or equivalent), stock major body panels, and a stock appearing underhood compartment.  Up to 5 changes from stock will be permitted, to include things like rear diffusers, debadging, inclusion of Holden badging, Holden interior components, cold-air intakes, etc.  A total of 5 to 10 total appearance modifications bump a car up to "Mild Mod."  A car in "Mild Mod" can have minor painted underhood components, different wheels, modified ride height, etc.  More than 10 appearance modifications bump a car up to "Modified" along with cars with custom paint, graphics, modified body panels, etc.  Any discrepancies regarding proper class placement will be determined by event organizers.
